Good evening All,

Got my 1995 Seadoo GTX 657X back together. Fired up, but man do I have a lot of smoke. Pop off is 27, High and Low adjustments set to factory settings, and I am premixing the gas. I went 32 to 1 for break in with 5 gals of gas, but I am thinking I might be to rich. Any suggestions? Thanks, George

I hope you are still supplying oil to the rotary gear.

Also if it’s not a new engine and is stock you should be fine at 40:1.

Thank you. Yes, I still have the oil tank installed with oil in it. I replaced the oil lines with clear lines so I could see the oil and I plan to keep the oil tank 1/2 full. I changed the ratio from 32 to 1 to 40 to 1 since I had only put 5 gallons in at 32 to1. I took it out today and spend some time running it at different speeds then stopping to check the plugs. I think I am close. Idle to 20% is still a little rich, I think. Plug is a little black. but I think I am close with the HS adjustment. Let me know what you this. Thanks.

Running premix you will always be rich at idle and especially extended idling like long no wake zones, that’s the beauty of oil injection. Almost no oil at idle and high oil rate at full throttle. I really recommend oil injection on these skis.
