I'm trying to get my doo started from winterization for the first time this season... every time I connect my battery cables, the 5a fuse blows in the MPEM... I've checked the cables all along the boat, all look fine. The grounds to the starter look fine.

Rehook the batteries and zap! I've gone thru 8 fuses and I'm stumped! I must have a short somewhere? The batteries checked ok.... could they be overcharged?

Any suggestions?

Bad MPEM....first though, disconnect the yellow wires from the rectifier, then install fuse, if pops, then disconnect the red wire from rectifier, if pops, then computer board bad......contact/find...ALLTHINGSCUSTOM....on this site

What costs to replace MPEM? it's in the shop waiting for diagnosis

this might mean time to sell and move on.

Wires

Im willing to bet the batteries are connected wrong. There is a ground wire that goes form the starboard side starter to the battery ground, then jumps across to the other battery, then goes to the electrical box. So actually there arent 2 separate systems. Id get a wiring diagram from this site's premium member section and verify connections.
