Hello everyone. New owner here. Just bought a 1994 Seadoo xp that has been sitting for awhile. Looking for advice on what I should do before putting it in the water to try. Looks like the fuel lines and injector lines have been replaced. Was planning on draining and changing the jet pump oil, fuel injector oil and clean the fuel tank. Also will put in new fuel filter, oil filter and plugs. Anything else before I drop it in the water? Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to the forum.

Lots of good people with good advice here.

At the top of this two stroke section is the carb rebuild thread. It is the best reference for working on the sea-doo carbs.

Fuel problems are one of the biggest issues so, as said by Mikidymac, rebuild the carbs, that fuel selector switch leaking air can throw things off and make sure you don't have the original grey fuel lines that deteriorate and gum things up.

It can't be said enough times. Only use original Mikuni carb kits, needle and seats. Just because the ebay add says muikuni doesn't mean you are getting OEM parts.

Check the jet pump condition by pulling the cone off the pump. Drain the oil, flush with brake clean, refill with oil and watch out for the core o-ring when you put it back in because they like to get pinched and not seal.

Grab the exhaust pipe and try to rock the motor side to side looking fir a broken motor mount.

Check your 4 bolts holding the tuned pipe to the exhaust manifold.

Do not use any extra fuel filters in the machine. There is a filter/ water separator by the steering column and filters built into the carbs. Any extra filter cut into a fuel line just give you another potential air leak to fight with.

Thank you. Still waiting on parts to arrive. Has not been easy finding for a 1994 especially without part numbers

Well finally all the parts have arrived. Of course the carb on this unit looked like it was never rebuilt as it still had the gray hose on it. Three of the 4 mounting bolts came off but with Murphy's law the last one took 5 times longer then the other three but finally out but not without breaking the pulse port sigh Looking to way to fix or replace now. The Mag cover bolts came out nicely but not the PTO side. One came out ok, the second with the help of vice grips and the last two had to be drilled out, luckily with no damage.

Well things are progressing.
Jet pump oil replaced
New Fuel Valve Switch
New oil and fuel Filters
Gas and oil tank cleaned
New Plugs
Carb Rebuilt
Replaced missing drain plug
New VTS and Stop Buttons
Seat Redone
New Battery with shut off switch

now just waiting on those small oil lines glad I spotted them as they were so brittle that when touched broke.

So once the oil lines come in will replace them, put the carb on, adjust the fuel injection and hopefully in the water for the first time!!!!!

Pics of the carb before and after.
