1994 Sea-Doo Bombardier GTX Drive Shaft Adapter

Greetings! I have a 1994 Sea-Doo Bombardier GTX. I am having a hard time finding something that says “this Drive shaft adapter fits a 1994 Sea-Doo Bombardier GTX.” From what I have read, it seems like the OEM 529.035.892 adapter covers a larger swath of machines. Is it safe to assume this fits my machine?

Thanks for the input!

Phil

That is for a 4 stroke. Not sure what you are trying to do but that will not work on your 2 stroke. They have different diameter drive shafts.

Thx. Glad I haven’t purchased it yet. Any idea how/where to find a similar adapter for a 2-stroke? I’m working on freeing up the engine on an older GTX.

i agree with Mac....i use a big pipe wrench to take off the pto....but i thought philip just wanted to free up the engine which hopefully does not require that much convincing.

Hey, guys. I’m attempting to revive 2 machines. Part of that is using the pto shaft to work it back and forth. I may end up having to remove it in the end. I have the male adapter for the impeller. I can’t find a female adapter for the shaft itself

There is no reason to have a female shaft adapter, the shaft is splined on the pump and PTO so it just pulls out.
IF the engine is locked up "breaking it free" will not fix anything.

No they don't, because there is no reason to hold or turn the driveshaft by the splines.
They make one for the yamaha because the impeller is actually threaded onto the shaft so you have to be able to hold the shaft, not on a Seadoo.
They make the male one to remove and install the impeller and torque the PTO to spec.

So this is what i would do based on your details......first remove the jetpump and driveshaft. the pump itself could be seized. (something suck in the pump, bearings seized, impeller stuck on wear ring). second, remove the starter. the bendix could be stuck in the out position and keeping the crank from spinning. so remove the starter. the engine may actually be fine.
