It seems to be a small tube to fit the necessary item. are there ones still sold that fit inside the tube with the lid on?

I am contemplating removing the tubes and mount a larger size and seal the holes.

What do you use?

You be able to buy a correctly rated FE to fit inside. Kiddie makes all types and sizes.

Has anyone ever used a FE while on the water????

While on the water if i saw a fire under the seat, I would have to reach over the steering to open the bin and reach in with my butt end hovering over the seat, pull out the FE and aim it towards the motor, while the fire is getting closer to the gas tank. Maybe I would just jump in the water and let it burn instead of fiddling with it and maybe blowing up with me on it. Insurance claim......

What would you do guys?????

don't get me wrong I'd be swimming but you need to have one to not get fined.

I gave My boat extinguisher to a PWC rider at shore once as he pulled a plug and turned it over (the wrong way).
Had I not been there, with mine, it would have been a total loss.

i just looked at mine in ski, its a kiddie model wr 211282, but im not finding it on line, but here is one , just the same i believe
http://mandmmarine.com/kiddemarinerpwcfireextinguisher.aspx
pretty cheap, and the whole idea i think about it is, i believe these are used to fight fire on other pwcs or boats if needed, might be hard to get to it and put fire out, they are dry chemical marine approved , just like one i have -- just remember though what ive been trained -- p.a.s.s. -- pull , aim, squeeze, sweep is how u use em

ole foster will be proud when he reads -- lol

I'm guessing Foster will be saying, forget the fire extinguisher, jump in the water and swim. Like SDB said, by the time you get the extinguisher out of the hatch, then if you take the seat off you are adding oxygen to the fire and you will most likely be enveloped in flames. My a$$ is in the water.

If one of my ski's ever caught fire I'd be off that thing faster than an Italian cruise ship captain.

When they charged that Italian captain with manslaughter, he said "I'm innocent, I was no where near them when they died."

when i posted that above, i said it was for fighting on other pwc's or boats, but, u would be surprised how fast a dy chemical fire estinguisher would put out a fire, i've seen about 20-30 fires on cars in 30 yrs, in shops where young kids use negligence

griz, how tight does yours fit?

I see Wallyworld has one 14H X 3.75in DIA

your link I found to be 12.75H X 2.9in DIA

Both are Kiddie.

it comes out pretty easy, nut not super easy, sorta fits real nice actually, was in ski when i bought it

Guess I'll be toting the storage bin into the store to dry fit.

Thank you

P.S. also I'm ordering that battery suggestion you gave in the other thread, looked to be better than most. (96 delivered)

If I'm ever on a ski and catches fire I'm going to use the A.S.S. method of dealing with it. ABANDON SKI and SWIM !!!
