1991 Bombardier Xp--won't get up and go

First I wanna say that I am far from a motorhead. My 91 Bombardier Xp runs and sounds great on my trailer in the driveway. But when I put it in the water it starts up fine but the motor dies when I give it throttle. Now my neighbor who I bought it off, told me everything was tuned up and ready to go and that the carburator was cleaned . Everything looks clean to me. Hoses are fresh, I put new spark plugs in, I cleaned the fuel filter which looked fine, I scoped out the intake, and I put fresh gas in. I am wandering if it is something stupid. Obviously it is a fuel issue. I really don't want to put it in the shop. Please help......I'd appreciate it!!!!

when he said carbs "are" clean...did he rebuild them. Think you need to check the internals out, brother.

I guess thats what I'm gonna do. What else could it possibly be if the carb is good to go?

pop-off in the carb/s. Pay attention to the n/s (needle/seat assy). The "tang" hold'n it, make sure, its flush with inner carb plate. Check the entire fuel delivery...inline filter, fuel selector valve...:cheers:
