180 Cover: Does it use poles?

I had my steering adjusted to "within spec" this spring so maneuvering into the dock space is much easier this season. It's also a straight shot into the dock this season which definitely helps with the jet boats wandering ways at idle or when there's some waves on the lake.

What is a steering adjustment and to spec consist of? Even if the wheel was off center it doesn't impact the squarely nature of backing up jet boats! I got the Thrust Vector system from JetBoatPilot and it made a huge different. It's also great because you can kill your engine when you come in (bow in) at an angle and speed you are happy with but don't want to kill your engine at the last minute. Kill it early and the steering vector will allow you to still steer at slow speeds!

Apparently they loosen the bolts on the jet pump and make sure the steering elements are working properly and there's no play in the system. The seadoo manual may have some range that is acceptable for steering play. Whatever they did it's definitely tighter and more accurate steering

Interesting...will look into it. I know mine pulls a bit more to one side when under way but I figured that was current and wind working it.

+1

It's pretty rare that our boat tracks straight, but it does happen on occasion. I always thought the current and lack of anything below the hull that acts like a "rudder" or "fin" the keep the boat straight was the culprit.

seadoo sportboat covers

year, model.........

Just scroll all the way down the web pages after you click the links, I think it's messed up but if you see web code just scroll down and you will get to the meat and potatoes of what you're looking for. Says it's lists for $328. It's vaccu-hold, has poles, ratchet etc..... If you notice it has the same last 4 numbers as the poppy cover. I think all the covers are made by commercial just sold thru different vendors. I never cared to figure it out that much to be honest. Don't forget to factor in your shipping. I am no way affiliated with this business and have NEVER done business with them either.
I went with this ordered Tuesday and received Thursday. Great quality and it's made by Comercial Sewing one of our sponsors of IJSBA region 8 racing. It also fits the Z car lol. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/577fe4f073a1a/20160707_193624.jpg

Nice deal. I'm always out looking for the best price. The less I spend on X leaves more a little extra to spend on Y. Also cool that you get double duty out of it, lol.

Hey gang. Is anyone's Poppy cover actually water proof out of the box. Pretty disappointed in how everything gets wet under the cover in heavy rains. Going to water proof it in the spring. How can it come off the factory floor not waterproofed?

so you a Poppy cover and it's not waterproof?

I would say negative.

We had a very warm and dry summer here on Lake Erie so I really didn't get to notice it to much but there were a few times when it was wet in places I thought it really should have not been. Then I brought it home last week and we had a weeks worth of rain...the floor is 1" deep in water in the back corner due to the tilt of where I placed the boat and two towels left in the boat were soaked through.

I bought the cover from the super deal in the links provided, I think it was something like RV World. It shows all the markings of a Poppy cover even knowing they don't really say Poppy on them. I think it states "hand sewn" or such.

It clearly will need $40 worth of water proofing on it come spring...boo! My old warn OEM cover did a better job of keeping water but I didn't like it for other reasons!

wow...because I'm in the market for a cover and I'm torn between the Poppy and the perfect fit of the OEM....

My boat came w/o a cover and I bought a used OEM. If it wasn't for the holes for the wakeboard tower (which I don't have) letting pine needles and water in I would have kept the one I bout on eBay.

I like the Poppy for keeping dirt out and it's secure for travel but it's just OK in build and it's worth what they ask, I think if you buy it through the more discounted options. As mentioned before if you are putting it over your bimini that is laying fit the back reinforced cleat holes are bit off but you can make them stretch.

It's worth noting that my top has developed two small holes...one is not the contractions fault while the other may be in the sense I would hope it could take a little more beating before weakening. Another grade or two up on the thickness of the material would be my vote!
