100hr Supercharger Rebuild changes?

Can anyone else confirm changes to the 100 service requirements for a Supercharged Sea-Doo? I just got off the phone with the dealer getting an estimate for the 100hr and was told that BRP sent them a notice stating that supercharger maintenance is now required every 200 hrs. Anyone else heard of this?

Good news if true!

I could be mistaken but I think that 200 hrs is only on the X-Chargers which are on the later models of SeaDoo's. I'm not sure when they started those year model wise.

Red2Blue probably knows the year models which have the 200 hr superchargers. Red???

On the new models it is 200hrs. Even on the old ones like my 2008 which has the 100hr interval can go for 200 if it has been rebuilt with seadoo's new kits for the newer machine. Take this with a grain of salt since the info came from my dealer.

Makes sense KK... I just wouldn't want people thinking that BRP re-evaluated their thinking and decided that ALL the supercharged ROTAX engines only need the SC rebuilt every 200 hours instead of every 100 hours.

I'm still curious though, what are the "new models" which go for 200 hrs between SC rebuilds? Did they start using these newer designed superchargers in 2009, 2010, 2011, or 2012? Or is it best to just call your local dealership up and ask them to check for your year and model? Probably the latter I'm thinking...

2012s start the "200 hr" intervals. And the associated rebuild kit.

That makes sense. Last year the dealer told me every 100 hours and this spring when I took it in, after the rebuild he said 200 hours. Thanks for that info

Talked to BRP on the phone this morning. The 200 hour rebuild actually starts with the 2011 skis, and any prior year supercharger rebuilt with the new kit containing the magical "coated washers" can also go 200 hours. So once my 100 hour is done this week my ski should technically be able to go 200 hours without a rebuild.

This info came straight from the horses mouth (BRP). I actually corrected my dealer on this as well, he thought it was for all superchargers. BRP did send a service bulletin out about it so if you want to read it you can ask your dealer.

Ouch! That seems high to me. I figured that it's a job I wasn't ready to tackle on my own just yet so I paid my dealer $613 parts and labor for the job.
