the two pieces that make up my 1995 speedster leak real bad. They said they would reseal it and then put new dibits in for a 1000 dollars. Is this a good price. I dont know what work that intales. If any one knows or has a opinion on this let me know. Thanks.

A grand...i'd pull the rub rail off, then run a bead of silicone on top/bottom of "mounted" rail, then run a bead/swab where thtere is rivets. Then install the other rail. A grand, no way.

pulled off rubber

I pulled off the rubber and I see that at the back of the boat where it leaks they used stainless steel wood screws instead of rivets. And there is a ton of silicon already up there and some spots are not sealed any more. I guess I will scrap all that silcon out at the parts that have no rivets and recaulck it and put rivets in. Your right now that I look at it a grand is ridiculous.

somewhat sure, the reason for the wood screws, is that the back of boat is wood, with fiberglass "lay", then gelcoat.

But, think your on right track, to save the grand.
