You guys may remember me...bought the two skis, one ran fine...the other was blowing water out of the #1 cylinder. The compression on the second ski is as quoted above! :willy_nilly::o
Just spoke with the techs in Waco, TX and those guys suggest a new engine...$3500!!! YIKES! I asked if it was an upper or lower problem and, of course, they don't know (they have the ski now.) My question is what exactly could go wrong in the bottom half to affect compression? I always assumed that leaking compression meant bad rings?!
Any ideas/past experiences/less expensive fixes?

You can get a refurbished engine from sbtontheweb.com cheaper than $3500. With either a one or 2 year no questions asked warranty. Personally have never purchased one from them, but know others whom say they are great.

could be alot of things, broken piston skirt, broken rings etc etc. No way of really knowing till its torn apart. As for 3500 thats just insane, if your handy with tools you can get a top end kit for around 200 bucks and most machine shops will bore out your cyl for 40 bucks a jug. Top end job for a shop should be around 700 max!

Appreciate the input/help!
Gonna' look at finances and do whats cost effective!
Anyone ever bought an engine from the Australian company thats posted on here?
