I picked up the jetski today with the diagnosis being a bad ECU. The dealership wants $1029 for the ECU and then it must be programmed. I can purchase a new Seadoo ECU for $740 on ebay, so I will purchase this and get a shop to program.
Holy F! That's expensive. Hope mine never goes out. What needs to be programmed? Just the key? If so, you should be able to find someone that'll do it pretty cheap.
I received my new ECU and shop programmed it. The original issue with the TOPS valve is gone, and the ski runs without codes. No ride time on the water, I'll have to wait till Spring since winter seems to have come early. I appreciate everyone's help with the issue.
Yeah, the older MPEM's aren't available new, there are one or two early versions custom made for low production applications with dual engines and hard to find as hens teeth.
Good to hear you've made progress, enjoy your ski!
