01 GTX DI engine skipping

As mentioned I have a 01 GTX DI, when I idle or at full throttle the engine will skip just a little bit, and randomly. It runs fine otherwise, starts fine, powers fine, just a little hiccup every second or so. Originally, (being newer to the PWC thing) I was thinking,"Must be because of the turbulent water and air getting under the ski", but noticed it does it in smooth water and idleing as well. I am now thinking plugs which are cheap enough fix, but I want to make sure I am not wasting 10$. The history is, I got the SeaDoo from a guy who only rode it 4 or 5 times in the last 5 years after inheriting it from his Mother. It was kept in his shed. The engine looks really clean/ 200 hrs. I ran Sentry Marine product in there for the first tank of 93 octane. I did not have anything done to the engine, but took it into a shop here in Brandon after taking it for a spin for the first time and seeing the Maint light come on. I asked them to check it out, and they ended up ripping me off redoing my steering cable (which I just asked they check to see if it was right) saying I didn't have a half ring in there, (which I would have bought and put in myself) but didn't even ask me if I wanted it done and charged me three hours labor. So the "clearing of the codes" still cost me another $18 and it still said Maint. the next time I took it out. After reading the manual I thought maybe an obstruction in the intake and started rocking it and putting it in and out of Forward and Reverse. Well, after it was warm, it went off and so now I am thinking it just isn't warm and will light up Maint if you go over 4700 RPM unless it's warm. Any ideas if that's true? If so, that solves the Maint light mystery. Any ideas on the skipping of the engine? And finally, does anyone know where I can get a rear storage compartment tub? Cost? Thanks for the help. in Tampa.

anybody have a clue, I changed the sparkplugs today. The old ones were solid black. We will see what the new ones do. Do they get black like that over time? Or is there an issue that I should be concerned about and the new plugs I put in are just going to be just as black in a trip or two?

You're hitting the rev limiter at top speed due to cavitation in the jet pump. Check your wear ring and impeller for damage. If the impeller is damaged, it can be repaired. A damaged wear ring will have to be replaced.

Fouled Spark Plugs

The new spark plugs took out the skip. Everything ran fine on the 4th of July and for the video click on the link in my sig. Still looking for a rear tub for my ride.
