01 gti not starting

Ok so here is where I am at.
last year started having problems getting going would bog down at high speed.
Pulled it from water chagned plugs prop wear ring. never started until I tried this year. Tried starting but was unable. just got clicking in solenoid. pulled plugs crancked and blew out alot of green slime from engine. Hmmmm. Installed new batery, tred again and engine tried to turn over withplugs in ok great, connect hose and try again. now I am back to getting just a click on the solenoid, even tried juming the solenoid to spin the starter and that di not work, pulled the plugs with hose connected and water is coming out of the plug hole. Ok now I am stumped. starter will not turn over and water coming out of plug hole when I hook up hose.

Green slimy mess could be from the gray fuel lines if you have them. If you do replace them with the black fuel line hoses from an auto parts store. Engine might just be gunked up with the stuff. Don't turn the water hose on unless the ski is already running. If it wont start, don't turn the hose on, you will get water all in the engine, not good.
