Try testing the fuel baffle in the tank first, that's usually what it is. Getting to the baffle is pretty easy.
Take the four hex screws out from under the back of the seat, under the grab bar. Loosen the clamp on the yellow boot and hold it down and loosen the clamp on the black boot and push it down. Be careful with the clamp on the black boot cause it will want to slide all the way down and it's a B to get it back up. There is a bolt that hold your seat down and you can use a 17mm wrench and 17mm deepwell socket to take that off.
Open the front storage compartment and take off your gas cap. The whole seat will tilt up. Put a broom handle there to hold it up while you work. There is a big black cap on the hull under the seat that you can pop off., and wha la, there is the fuel baffle.
Remove the fuel baffle from the tank. Make sure you mark the fuel lines so you put them back on right. Take a multimeter and set it to ohms. Check the resistance while tipping the baffle back and forth slowly letting the float move up and down.
