Ok, so I decided to do the maintance myself. It's been sitting for about a year or so and want to clean out the carbs and fuel system.

Motor is: 951cc

I am trying to get the exhaust off but how do you get the nut off of the manifold? I got the three allen bolts out but there is one below it. Also, is there another bolt that I can't see? The manual shows a #10 bolt somewhere but i can't find it.

Any help and/or pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Scott

If it is anything like mine, I hope it is. Then don't worry about the exhaust pipe. You can get to the carbs with out taking it out. I just did this my self. You just need to remove the 4 allen head bolts holding the carbs in and remove the brackets holding the throttle, oil, and choke cables on. Then the fuel hoses. Make sure you label the hoses when you remove them. Then pull the carbs. You will want to replace the fuel hoses anyways. If you haven't already. The grey line breaks down on the inside. Get some automotive fuel hose. I didn't take my exhaust pipe off. I was able to get to it and I'm pretty big person. I hope this helps. If you still want to remove the pipe. There are 4 bolts. 3 allen head and one hex. You still need to remove the carbs to get to it. Or a stubby wrench.

OH! If you are gonna rebuild the carbs the you will need an impact screwdriver. Trust me on this one. It is a must have to bust all of the screws loose. Or you will be drilling them out and trying to find new ones like I had to do.

Actually got the pipe off without removing the carbs. Moved it out of the way just enough to get to them (didn't have to split them).

Grey lines have been replaced. Opened the carbs and where not as bad as I thought, although the fuel filters in them where clogged. They where so bad that even after I let them soak overnight, cleaned them with a q-tip, soap & water, etc. I still had to go out and buy new ones. Talk about hiway robery! It was something like $14 a piece for those things...

And yes, the impact driver came in handy.

Should have taken pics before I removed the fuel lines from the carb, now I'm stuck. I see you already responded to the other post.

Ok. Then you have gotten most of the problem. If those were clogged up then that is most of it. They aren't cheap. There is a guy in California at Watercraftmajic named Bill. You should of called him to get those filters. Just make sure also when you put them back that you set the hi speed and lo speed adjusters to factory specs. Then you will have to set the idle on the MAG carb. It will depend on your year model.
