Hi at all,
I have a little Problem with my ´96 XP with the 717 ROTAX Engine.
When the Engine is warm, I must push the startbutton very long, i think 6 sec before the engine will start again! And when the the engine is running i can´t give full throttle because the enginge will goes out.

I hope somaone can understand my english because i´m from germany.

I hope someone can help me!!!

Sorry, stud.....cant understand you...

First man, you got the 787 motor. I'd take the carbs off, go thru them, and then take apart the "black caps" on the motor, dont turn the "red dot", they're set from factory. If grey fuel lines in ski, replace them, with 1/4in fuel line from somewhere...keep us up-dated. Might do compression test, also.

Sorry it´s a ´95 XP.
No, there is the 717 Engine inside. The Compression is 10bar-That´s OK!

I think when the Engine is warm, the Fuel will starts to gasing and there is air in the carburators. Is it possible?

I have a very similar problem.

When it finally starts, will it run only in low rpms? And start to bog if you go over maybe half-throttle?

I think mine is air in the fuel lines, as well.

ok, looks like 10bar is 145psi, which is perfect. I'd start with carbs being cleaned out, and not just spray'n stuff on them or adding crap to fuel system. Physically, take them out and apart, and wit ha can or 3 of carb cleaner, blast the crap out of it, wit hall the needles out, jets out, gaskets and o-rings removed..etc.
Think the problem, lies in there, stud..

Also, check the rotary valve clearance. If the rotary cover is worn out (more than .016" clearance) when the engine is hot, you will experience stalling at idle, rough idle, and hard starting.

Same problem

my 717 just started samething....In water or out water..Cold /starts right up....warm engine / there is a delay in starting and some bogging down...but once you get it open back up and cruising ..no problem...no problem with power or idle....just hard to start warm....more of just a hassle type thing...nothing major....puts undue strain on my new AGM battery...LOL..let me know if you find a solution ...I thought maybe I'd look for stick choke or something

sounds to me like the needle and seat are leaking in the carbs. so when it is turned off there is gas dripping in the intake flooding the engine. try to not give it any gas when starting warm. if it fires up faster than before this is the problem...
