    Well believe it or not the ski runs perfectly. I guess all the residue from sitting for two years is gone and the machine starts right up. Also, I rechecked the compression and it's 150psi in both cylinders, go figure. Now for the question, when it's running it sounds like something is spinning...

    I may ultimately have to do that. Do you think it would be cheaper to break down the engine risking breaking bolts and such or replacing the engine itself. If it's the latter, how much would you think an engine for this particular ski would cost??

    Tried to run the ski today and it wouldn't turn over. I removed the driveshaft and put a wrench on the flywheel and attempted to turn the engine manually, which I did. I again tried to start the engine and it turned over. It seems to have a dead spot and when it reaches that spot it won't turn...

    Changed the bellows - started the jet ski - it ran with a lot of smoke. Don't know if it's blowing the residue from the engine. Any thoughts???

    Cleaned the carbs over the weekend, and to my surprise the ski started for 45 seconds with the fuel lines disconnected. We noticed one of the valves was stuck in the midway position. We removed and cleaned both valves , but noticed the belows had to be replaced. I'll be ordering them tomorrow...

    The compression was 150 & 140, seem excellent. I'm going to take the carbs apart, rebuild and see what happens.

    I was just given a 1998 GTX Seadoo with trailer by a friend. He said he rolled the ski over and could not start it after that. That was two years ago. Surprisingly enough, it is in great shape. I pulled the spark plugs out and found water in the cylinders. I sucked the water out with a shop vac...
