    1995 Seadoo Spi 587

A few things I can think of are 1. Take the fuel line that runs from the filter to the carb inlet, take the end of off the fuel filter and attach it directly to the top of the RES or ON fitting on the top of the fuel tank to eliminate the fuel selector valve and fuel filter from the equation. If...

Put 4 pounds of pressure into pulse fitting on carb to see if that diaphragm is good

Nice work, I didn’t get an accurate measurement because I couldn’t bend any gauge past .014 without permanently creasing the gauge but my guess would be about .017 of clearance by the ports, you can see in my one picture a lip that was left around the outside of the cover. I figure it’s probably...

Not sure why this picture is here again.... I guess I will be needing a top dead Center gauge, I’ve seen people find it with a pencil in the cylinder, but it would drive me crazy worrying if I actually got it correctly at TDC, any suggestions when purchasing one? I’m thinking if possible I would...

    98 Challenger Project

I checked the rotary valve clearance today on the port engine, of course I couldn’t wait till I ordered some 45 degree angled feeler gauges so I bent the feeler gauges I had best I could, I wish I would have just waited to order the right feeler gauges as I worry the pressure I applied to the...

    2000 gts idle issue.

What engine is it? I would think you could do a leak down test with the engine still in, should be able to remove the tuned pipe and carburetors, put block plates on and pressurize or use old inner tube between carb and intake and between tuned pipe and exhaust manifold? On the 717 you can for...

Just wanted to verify, when checking the rotary valve to cover clearance I remove the cover #1 in the first picture, remove the oring #12, reinstall the cover #1, torque the cover down to 15 pounds and then check the clearance between the valve and cover with a 45 degree feeler gauge as in the...

    2000 gts idle issue.

Sounds to me like you have an air leak from somewhere, possiblyfrom the carburetors gaskets, crankcase outer oil seals, crankcase mating surface

    Exploding Oil Tank

Is it not a stock pressure relief valve on the top of the oil tank?

Hello, Back in the PWC World

Didn’t know that they could be bought for so little, yes I think I paid 30.00 per injector to have them cleaned and tested while I waited. I drove 1.5 hours each way to have them done

Hello, Back in the PWC World

This was my set up for checking injectors although as mentioned even after I cleaned them, I still had to send them away to be professional cleaner and tested.

Hello, Back in the PWC World

I don’t recall it being very difficult at all to take the injectors out, if there is room, my memory says there was a little clip to remove and then the injectors just pulled out. I used a hair of 2 stroke oil as lubrication when pushing them back in

Hello, Back in the PWC World

Never having worked on the injected Seadoo, only injected snowmobiles when I was testing fuel flow I took the fuel rail out still hooked up to the fuel line, had the injectors out as well, put them on the fuel rail and then clear tubes fitted over the ends of the injectors so I could see how...

I appreciate you following along, definitely more fun with people if the same likes and interests to share with and the more heads the better. I originally thought it may be a 2000 as well but once I got to pick up the boat the hin tag did say it’s a 98, also I have downloaded the manual and my...

Hello, Back in the PWC World

Rather than Watch videos, download that manual from seadoomanuals.net, just don’t split the tuned pipe, I can take a look at my 99 GSXRFI tomorrow but should just be 3 bolts and a nut where the tuned pipe connects to the exhaust manifold and then disconnect it just before the water box.

Any recommendations on where to purchase files for creating the chamfer? What course of file? I’m not overly familiar with files, only really ever used files for sharpening chainsaw chains. I will see what I can find online as for what type of file I should be using.

Hello, Back in the PWC World

I think at this point just stick with the plan, after you get it running, would be a good idea to take the rave valves out, inspect and clean them but no sense throwing to many things into the equation at once. That motor looks like a low hour motor, very very clean nice looking ski. Well worth...

Hello, Back in the PWC World

That’s great news, That’s extremely low hours but definitely possible. Just go to seadoowarehouse.com from the link here in this forum, pick the year and model, go to the fiche for fuel, look at the diagram then scroll down and you will see the part number. If it were me, after putting the new...
