    Squish Test

951s respond great to higher compression. I run open flame arrestors on all my skis, delete AP if there is one, and jet accordingly.

Removing Fuel Baffle on 1994 SP, is it hard?

It will come out without removing the steering or anything major on that model.

Carbon seal / carrier bearing types?

Yea there are a couple types of bearing carriers and then the carbon seal in the newer models. I always run the bearing carrier with the zerk fitting, can buy rebuild kits and whole new assembles from OSD marine.

Sounds like you never fixed the root cause that destroyed the first engine

Reliability & common issues with the 1996 SPi / 587 in general

Double check compression (~150psi new), make sure carbs are rebuilt, no grey fuel lines, and lake test it. Those are super simple skis, reliable but not fast.

    Carb Throttle lever

You're missing the throttle wheel. Mikuni Throttle Cable Drum - 9 Position / 18mm Throw edit- on second look, i think you'll need the throttle stop thing as well that the idle adjustment rests on. Plus, the aftermarket drum like i posted might not work with oil injection. I always run premix...

2001 RX Reboot Project – MPEM related question

How would a dess post cause your starter to engage on its own? LOL. Its a bad MPEM, starter relay, start/stop switch, or short in wiring between one of those.

2001 RX Reboot Project – MPEM related question

If you had a bad ground you wouldnt get any power... Your starter solenoid is probably bad, you can test it with a dmm.

GTX 951 install- w or w/o carbs on?

Install engine and all connections first, then exhaust, followed by carbs last.

    GTX LTD bad compression

OSD hose is good stuff. I've used all sizes they sell with good results. Also have used ebay/amazon fake tygon and they cracked within a season or two so definitely make sure its genuine Tygon if going through ebay/amazon.

    SBT piston size?

1.0 means its 1mm over sized. You'll want 1.5mm over pistons for the rebuild depending how damaged the cylinder walls are.

2001 RX Reboot Project – MPEM related question

Eliminate all that bs and run a fuel line directly from the reserve pickup to the carb. Once you get the ski running you can add back the water separator and peacock if desired. If the autoparts store wanted $10 a ft for fuel line then its probably pressure hose. You just need the regular...

Help Identify Carbs and Jet Pump

Looks like a brass 155mm pump from a ski without VTS and the carbs are from a 951. I'm thinking a 98 or 99 GTXL?

1998 Sea Doo GTX LTD 951 Run Away//Low Running RPM

Fuel lines are 5/16" ID in and 1/4" ID return. Carbs should be rebuilt with OEM mikuni parts and pressure tested afterwards. Cleaning them and reusing the old orings and gaskets is just asking for problems. The engine is running away because its lean. Either air leak in block, air leak...
