Mine is the top one..... I was confirming that after everything is installed there should not be any movement in and out at the impeller unless you are pushing the spring in and out... is that correct? With the nose cone off I have about .010” end play.... is that correct?

It’s the original cone and it has the push button with the spring on it

But with the nose cone on should there be any end play. Mine just seems extremely tight with the nose cone on. You can hardly push the impeller in at all such as trying to collapse the spring

I am looking for the axial tolerance of the jet pump shaft. Is there supposed to be any end play with the entire pump assembled? That is including nose cone and impeller.

Sounds like your covering all the basics @etemplet .....these things will make you second guess everything you do.... my engine is still sitting on the bench so I don’t have this RFI figured out yet

For those RFI enthusiasts here is a question I have. When the mag cylinder is at TDC what should the flywheel position be in relation to the crank position sensor?

Is it possible to remove the rotary shaft while the engine is in the ski? Also if you remove the shaft will I have to replace the seal or can I reuse the one that comes out?

Red maintenance light is flashing.... do you need the candoo or buds to read this and turn it off Ski is also backfiring at times through the throttle body enough to blow the flame arrestor off Anyone know of what this may be

Pulling the pump Monday to check fuel filters and fuel pressure at the pump.....

Miki.... see if this is a problem....I unbolted the injector rail but left the fuel line connected.. removed plugs and put plug wires on grounding bar. Had someone crank the engine over using the start button then they slowly started giving it throttle about half throttle the injectors quit...

Ran GSX RFI ski today and the new muffler rave diaphragm let the rpm get up to about 5100 before it starts losing power the more throttle I give it. I let off the throttle rpm will of course drop off to around 3500 to 4000 and then I can give it throttle to ~ 5100 and the process starts all...

How do you get that sucker out without tearing up those piece of crap black plastic screws? It is making me mad :mad: TIA Ed

951 is up and idling today....had to wait for new carb gaskets to come in Taking it to the river tomorrow and see how it goes for a little break in period

Cable was adjusted to tight. Butterflies never full closed

I did reuse the old gasket....they looked fairly good but I guess not Idle screw was backed all they way off with a gap showing

Rebuilt 951..... fired it up and now the carb runs away....pulled DESS key to stop. The ski is a 1999/2000 GTX Limited with I believe to be 38SBN. Before the rebuild it ran ok now it does not. Where would I start with this thing?

Are the jet sizes stamped into the jet where you can read them?

Rebuilt the carbs and reinstalled before putting pistons on the rods.....much easier than working around that exhaust pipe

Update on the 951 Had the cylinders bored from a 1.0 to 1.5.... Got a new top end kit from SBT..... Got it together today..... Had to use a large hose clamp to squeeze the rings in while I slid the cylinders down, installed the long bolts before putting the cylinders on and kept them from...
