    So far I've changed the plugs and checked up in the intake grate area. The impeller and wear ring look good. The oil looked to be on the high side. I extracted about a half quart out. The weather has sucked here (St Louis area cold and or raining) so I can't test ride.

    Lay under the ski and look in the intake grate. You will be able to see if anything has been sucked in there. If all clear, hook up water and start the engine. Then turn the water on to flush. Only run for a minute at the most. Then turn water off, then engine off. Never have the water running...

    Yes, you can spray liquids through it but does not create the required pressure for circulation. Really sucks as I bought it last year to replace a wallered out pump and did not get a chance to test. I ran out of time and warm weather.

    It's figured out, aftermarket jet pump=junk-no pump water. Has only one orifice (hole) instead of three like the oem.

    I use Eastman 1/2" ID reinforced braided vinyl tubing. You can get it at Lowes. Works perfectly.

    1999 GTX RFI Low Idle

    There is a 4 or 5 mm allen head screw at the throttle stop, turn it in to achieve 3000 rpm idle out of water. Starboard side of motor. Pretty easy to access. I have a 99 and 2000 rfi, bumped them both up.
