From what i understand the hours are stored on the mpem and can not be reset. the only way would be buying a mpem with less hours on it. its not uncommon to find older skis with low hours. jetskis are kinda like pools to a lot of people. you get them, use it the first few seasons then they sit...

Well thanks for the help guys I will report back once I get the new mpem. I did have the vts box go up in flames last year I had a feeling that wasn't gunna be good for the mpem. I will check over all the connections when I have it out

I would recommend removing the whole motor to do it. I can be done in the ski but for a little more work u can pull the motor and make the job a lot easier. U will have to remove the carbs and whole exhaust

It's has happened about 4 times so far. It seems like once u get it out on the water it won't happen again. It seems to be doing it more and more. 9 times out of 10 it is fine just don't wanna get stuck out there I have a new mpem on the way gunna hope that will fix it.

Just use the service manual it's straight foward. There's really no special tools that you "need" to do a top end. It all can be done with a normal set of tools. Just go slow take your time and be clean. If you run into any problems just post them here and we all can help

i would guess fuel selector. its a lot harder to tell how a motor is running off of plugs then most people think. if it is cutting out at high rpm you are running lean from lack of fuel.

what is good compression? what numbers did u get? start with the basics, did u try new plugs?

Yea it wasn't even started yet at that point. 8 beeps means defective mpem according to the service manual. I just find it odd that if I disconnect the battery it's good to go

Hey guys, went to go out riding yesterday pulled up to the dock and went to start my ski before backing into the water. When I put my key on I got the normal 2 beeps followed by 8 more beeps and the temp light flashed 4 time. It would keep doing this so I disconnected the battery and tryed agin...

Sounds like the 2nd ski has a air leak, my hx did the same thing when it had a bad crank seal. I don't see a rag causing a hesitation on a 110hp motor. I would rebuild the carbs on the 1st ski as well

wow, very hard to read well first off if it is cutting out at wot it is running lean, STOP running it. you changed the fuel lines but did u clean the filters in the carb and the selector switch? start with a compression test and make sure you didn't already fry that motor report back on what...
