'99 GTX Limited taking on water

Hi and thanks for having me.

I have a GTX Ltd that is taking on water when backed in at the ramp and was hoping some of you might have some suggestions before I take the backend apart. I did fill the hull with some water with a hose but did not see any leaks. (Did not fill it past the bottom bolt)

Thanks!

Just to cover all bases, your drain pugs were in...right? ;)

Question, is the ski running while this is happening? If so, have you done it without it running?

The two things I think of doing are putting the ski, while on trailer at a high angle and filling it with water slowly to see if the leak is further up the rear end. Just don't allow water near the electronics. On my 98 there is a black electrical box in the back that shouldn't go under water. The other thing is to take the seats off and have someone watch the rear inside as you slowly back the ski into the water, use a flash light, and you should be able to see it start leaking. Go really slow. My 2 cents.

Have you done any work on it since the prior to the leak?

Plugs in and ski was not running, no work done, my son and I got it over the winter as a project. It's not a lot, maybe half a gallon in 45 minutes, but I prefer it to be none lol.

I do have the black box in the back, didn't want to fill near that. I'll see if I can get a steeper angle in the driveway.

I will tell you that no water is probably impossible, there is a bilge system in the ski for the bit of water that does collect in the bottom. That much water isn't bad IMO
