I just bought a 2013 RXPX 260, the HIN on the back is missing the first character. (Y)... there is a blank spot for it, just no etching. Does anyone know where else the full CIN/HIN might be located? I checked under the battery box and other visible places short of too much dismantling. Appreciate any suggestions.

On the old skis it's under the gas tank. How does your dmv know it's missing a letter? You can't just walk in, hand them the title, process the paperwork and head out?

Unfortunately they actually have to see it, so the lady walked out, looked at it and said the VIN doesn’t comply. Prior owner was a different state. It looks like the plastic etching just faded out on the Y, or the factory missed it when new. I’m going to get ahold of the state inspector, I’m sure I’ll get it worked out.

According to the owners manual, it's only shown on the rear of the ski. No mention of it being etched anywhere else.

Did you try a magnifying glass to see if it had worn off?

There is always a second location. It's under the fuel tank on most seadoos and virtually impossible to see without a lot of dismantling.

HIN & EIN number location on 2014 seadoo GTX 260 iS Limited I also have problem I bought it from private owner and I have bill of sale, but I couldn't find vin/hin anywhere on the sea doo. I really appreciate help

Mine had the plastic factory tag on the rear deck area, but it was missing a number. I did not get to the point of disassembly to find a second location other than checking under the battery. Nothing there for mine. I had to go to the state and they assigned a new HIN/VIN, these have titles in my state so it was a bit of a process. Less than ideal, but they would not allow a correction to the original tag. Sorry I don’t have any other suggestions.
