Unusual request for replacement" captains chair back cover "for my 1997 challenger 1800.
While disassembling my seats for new upolstery, I found the back cover to the captain seats are broken pretty badly and not able to recover or fit in the current condition.
I'm pretty surprised that I haven't seen where others have had this issue...it's a vulnerable and brittle part of these seats...
This piece is a molded plastic part with compound curves which hangs from the top of the seat behind the back cushion and has 2 darts toward the bottom.
Unfortunately these are broken into many pieces at the curved top area ...
(Pretty tough fabrication )
Would anyone be currently parting out their boat or any creative ideas?
Hopefully this might catch the eye of someone that had the same issue.?
Thanks guys, John

I had the exact same problem, I never found an easy fix and ended up never replacing. Now I’m redoing it again and hope someone chimes in a way to make new covers

Here’s a thought and may be my solution.
Instead of trying to duplicate or repair the chair back covers...with padding and vinyl too... which is really only cosmetic anyway...
I think I’ll just abort that project and install a cargo net in it’s place.
I know I can find plugs for the holes that would show, and a little extra convenient storage space is a bonus I can live with.
Any thoughts or ideas I’ve overlooked?
JM
