Life expectancy on a Fuel pump

How long does a fuel pump last , I bought two 2004 4 tec GTX a couple of years ago as a project
I m finally get around to working on them , I think the fuel filters were never changed .I was going to change the fuel pump while I have everything apart to change the fuel filters .Am I wasting money by doing this

Yes. It's hard to say what the life expectancy is. Get yourself a can-doo scanner and build a test gauge to connect to the fuel line. You can activate the fuel pump with your laptop and the Candoo, and you'll need the Candoo in the future! You should have 44 PSI. If the pressure is good leave them alone ... if it ain't broke ....

How many hours are on the skis? Both of my '02s (130 hrs) have the original fuel pumps ... knock on gelcoat.
