Charge more for a silver engine. That paint is 100 times worse to bead blast of than the white. I actually swapped mag housings to white ones because they're that much easier to blast. Maybe the chemical stripper makes a difference.

This is when I appreciate coming across a previously rebuilt SBT.. the paint all but falls off of them. :lols:

I hadn't noticed a difference really between white and silver, what are you blasting with? I use what I call salt and pepper mix.. half glass bead and half coal slag.

i only run glass bead and it takes some time thats for srue. i have found it best to use some air craft stripper one time and let it sit then wash it up and it comes off like nothing with the glass bead

I run the mix so that the small glass can get in the little corners and creases (casting dates, etc) and the slag can blast off the big surfaces. Only downside is it takes a ton of air, and the coal slag is really hard on the clear glass protector.. I can usually only blast a solid hour or so before having to change it.
