Which product are people using for Grease Guns? There seem to be a number of products with all kinds of price points.

Lincoln appears to be the most expensive.

Then there are:

Plews
Performance Tool
Husky
Wilmar
Lubrimatic

Also, any comments on those mini-guns that use 3 oz cartridges? The online reviews are not very positive.

So, what's the word on these things, guys?

I have a big Lubrimatic with a long flex hose a Lubrimatic Mini grease gun with a hard line and a big Powerbuilt grease gun with a hard line from pep boys. All 3 work like a champ. I always travel with one of the bigger ones when trailering and an extra tube or 2 of grease. I lost an axle seal back in the 90's trailering my doo's to the shore and have to drive about 10 miles to an RV shop and bought a set of bearings, grease, and a file to smooth out the axle. That experience was enough for me to start carrying a grease gun and trailer supplies.

I use a mini. My trailer hubs get hit every trip once pulled from the water.

Hmm. Never thought of that in the travel emergency kit. Sounds like taking it with a couple tubes of grease is a good addition to the road kit. Any reason to use one of the big ones instead of a mini? I would assume a mini for the bearing buddies would be enough.

Zerks are the same on the bb and pto. The mini was a stocking stuffer I think from my father when I was younger.

Yes. Same grease. Since I have owned my two Polaris skis from 1979 it is all I have ever used.

Nice! I just bought a dual ski Triton full aluminum trailer. I don't know what grease is in the axle. Does it matter?

I use marine wheel bearing grease in my trailers. My skis get Mobil 1 synthetic grease.

I have a blue hawk one I got from lowes a few years ago. It leaks like crazy but it was cheap and does the job.

I use the Mercruiser waterproof marine grease, this one p/n is the 3oz tube for the small guns. Most of my guns are Lubrimatic I'm pretty sure, with flex hoses.

92-8M0071837 Quicksilver U-joint & Gimbal bearing Grease.

Look for the Sierra marine gimbal bearing grease too, nothing wrong with it either.
