Hello again all,

Have a real newbie question here. Just bought a pair of 06 Rxt's. One has a yellow covered line stuck in the engine cover. Would appear to be a vacuum line port maybe. One reason I ask is that one ski has it and the other does not.

What is it? Maybe the other is just removed and fell below?? I have not had time to search it out, but was real curious.

TIA
Don

The parts are #41, 42, 43 on the parts diagram for the "Engine and Air Intake Silencer".
It appears the tube goes around to the Throttle body. Must be a line to measure Vacuum/Pressure in the intake?

Any one able to confirm?

Are you talking about the yellow cap that is on top of the engine plastic cowl? If so thats to lube your throttle body. If you remove the cover from the other ski, you would find the black hose with the yellow cap that might have fell down. It will run to the side of the throttle body. Older models didnt come with this so maybe that is the case as well.

Ah!!! That makes sense. Yes, it is a yellow cap on a plastic piece like you would hook up a vacuum gauge maybe. Curious, what kind of lube should be used? How often? I have the shop manual on puter at home but im at work right now.

EDIT: Downloaded the shop manual at work and found it. Yes, lube port for Throttle body. Says to use XP-S spray lube for 3-5 seconds for storage, OR Every 10 hours is in salt water.

I looked both units over better this weekend.
One has the lube tube and the other does not. Matter of fact the one does not even have a port for it on the Throttle Body. Seems kinda odd. BUT one engine was built in 11/2005 the other was built 05/2006. I guess that was added in 2006? Even though they are both "2006" models according to the HIN.

I have an 09 RXT-X 255 that has it and a 2010 GTX with a 155 that does not have it... So who knows what the reasoning is.
