Hello everyone! I just purchased my first jet ski it's a 2000 seadoo RX. What oil do you recommend I should use formula xp of xp di. What are the differences between them? Can xp di oil be used on non di engines?

Yous ski is a 951 which has RAVE valves, so you should be using an API-TC rated full synthetic oil. If you can find out what the previous owner used and it meets specs. continue to use it. ie, SeaDoo XPS, Quicksilver, Amsoil Interceptor. The rating is more important than the brand.

I'm not going to go into a lot of detail because honestly this subject has been beat to death. If you change brands you will need to change the oil filter and really you should change the filter annually.

Full synthetic should be used in RAVE valve engines, 787 and larger, synthetic blend or mineral oil can be used in now RAVE engines, 720 and smaller.

Yep... what he said.

I personally use XPS Synth, and semi-synth in my skis, just because I get a good price locally, but guys are having very good luck with Quicksilver PWC oil. If you have a supper Wal-Mart... they normally have it.

Thanks guys I will stop by Walmart this weekend and check out what they have? Do you know where the oil filter is located on the 951 engine?

Here is a survey by Bestcovery on the top 4 brands of synthetic oil.

Besides Amsoil, can the others be used in Rotax motors?

http://www.bestcovery.com/best-synt...etic doesn't mean its API-TC certified. Lou

Thanks Lou, I wasn't thinking of changing from Amsoil Interceptor as I have a lot left. But I was curious.

I use Amsoil Interceptor, the reason I said no is because the oils in the survey were automobile engine oil, none of them were API-TC certified.

Sorry but I should have more clear when asking the question.
I meant can these BRANDS be used in Rotax if the oil is API-TC and either semi or full synthetic . Just thought other choices would be good if cost is lower.

Like watching someone fall down a long set of steps.

ANY brand can be used as long as it meets the necessary specs.
