i recently rode a jetski and loved it. im undecided to get two jetskis for the fun factor of them or a jet boat (speedster late 90searly 2000s) instead. i hear there as fun as a jetski with storage and room for friends. Im a adreniline junkie so a normal boat doesnt seem to interest me. what are the pros and cons of the speedster? is there any year i should avoid? I heard they get boring quick is this true? any info to help me decide from you experienced owners is greatly appreciated. im looking at a 99 220 hp right now is this a good boat or should i get a newer four stroke?

i say it all the time. I really think the 98-99 Speedsters are the best all around fun boat made. They are slightly bigger and the power is amazing. They are easy to work on. Tons of fun. I never get bored with it. They handle like a big jetski. You can easily get the whole boat out of the water. I really have no cons with it. The ONLY con would be I can only take 3 other people out on it. But that beats the smaller jet boats.

I have a friend who just bought 2 new skis. They are fun, but you are limited to just hanging out with 1 other person. For me half the fun of boating it the chillin in the water hanging out. No fun with skis. I can bring my jukebox on water loaded down with cold adult beverages. Try that on a jet ski.

My friends rationale to get skis over a boat was that he wanted the option to go out alone when he cant find anyone else. I can easily launch this boat and trailer it alone and it is still fun by myself.

My 2 cents and somewhat biased opinion.

Alrighty then R Foster,

I have a friend in Jersey who is dying to get back on the water and this sounds like the perfect fit,,, him, his wife and the 2 kids.

Where should he be looking for the 98-99 Speedsters sales?

Thanks for your time,
Stinky
