Since the day I first owned my 97 challenger 1800, the fuel gauge has not worked. Low premix oil signal on that same fuel gauge seemed like it was always on as well. I figured it was the sensor located in the center of the fuel pump and I am in the middle of doing a full rebuild on this boat. I pulled the fuel pump out and noticed that it does have some damage up top near the gas line nipples. I have read a lot about these challengers having bad electrical within the fuel gauge/pump systems.
1.) Is there any test I can perform to see what is wrong with mine or that my gauge has not gone bad?
2.) If you do recommend getting a new fuel pump, where do you recommend purchasing it online?
