95 gtx runs on one cyl

A friend of mine got this ski that hasn't run in a year or so. It wouldn't run very good so he rebuilt the carbs. Now it won't crank at all. The spark is great and the compression feels the same on both cylinders. It's getting fuel and sounds like it wants to crank but on low throttle. I left the back plug out and it cranked up and runs on low throttle.Will not run with the front plug out or with both plugs in. Any ideas on what to look for?

Is the idle setting messed up? Sounds like you need to tune the carbs...

The carburetors are open I can pore fuel into them. Do you know what the compression should be?

~150 if my memory serves me right. I'll look it up though and if I'm wrong I'll post a reply.

you should take the cylinders off and inspect the crank and the pistons for rust and deff check the crank bearings !!!

Are the two cylinders separated in the crankcase or should I be able to put fuel in the rear carb and it run on the front cylinder?
