Been watching Ebay for a Challenger 180 and today I found what could have been the deal of the year. A new 2008 Challenger 180SE for $13,999 plus fees.

I call on it and get them to send me more pictures....Its the real deal at a Dealer in Wisconsin. I already have Jim AKA Sikiguy ready to pick up the boat for me(Thanks Jim your the best). Only hang up for me was the painted steel trailer. That sucker wouldnt last one season in the salt water around Florida.

I spend an hour calling around trying to determine how I can get a galvanized trailer and once I establish a game plan, guess what???? IT SOLD!!!!! Missed it by 10 minutes!!!

Bummer!

Hey Craig,

I just got to go online and check it out. I did call these people early this year. I think that they had this and also a 430 Utopia...I wasn't ready to bite on a 430...so I was looking elsewhere. By this time, I was more interested in the U-boats....bummer on that boat!!! :banghead: You know...sometimes it happens. When I bought my boat, there was a guy that was going to make an appointment to 'see' the boat. I felt confident enough and negotiated the deal sight unseen. Yeah, sometimes it is weird to bite the bullet....:puke:

Oh by the way, Cedarburg is just north of Milwaukee. I was thinking of Fitchburg...that is closer to the Dells!

Here is that link...for that craigslist search.

Good luck!!!

Another interesting boat

Jim,

I wish you were my neighbor too....We'd have the best time boat shopping together.

I have another boat I've been looking at for a few days. The owner and I have been e-mailing back and forth and I finally got good pictures today.

This boat is a 2007 regular 180. 31 hours and its in Florida. Original asking price is $16,500. Under B.E.S.T. warranty till 12/2011. The boat looks really good in pictures. What do you all think its worth?

Craig

16500 sounds like a little much. NADA has it listed at 12,900 with the bimini included and the trailer. If it's super clean I would give more and it looks as if it is. I would say offer 14500 for it.

Awesome!!

Jim,

This Search engine for Craigslist rocks!!!! Thanks bro!

We share a brain

Orange,

We must be sharing a brain because I was thinking the same number!

About twenty five thousand in my neck of the woods.:ack:

Really nice clean looking boat, not a mark on the hull that I can see in any of the pictures. One thing though Craig.......... I don't see a wake board tower?? I thought that was one of the reasons for getting rid of the Utopia?

Boat shopping is the best way to spend time though isn't it.

Aaron:cheers:

What is the price of now?

Craig,

No problemo! I am that guy that drives through a dealer's lot the day after he buys a car....:rofl::rofl:

I know that you had mentioned that you might wait until the end of season to catch a deal....how much is the missed time on the water and for your family worth? Just food for thought. There are several Challengers other there!...more so than U-boats.:ack:

$14,500 sounds pretty fair. Boat looks very clean! :agree:

Aaron.....I'm gonna have to go Monstertower.com I guess. Will it void my hull warranty if I install an aftermarket tower?

Craig

More than Monster

There are a few other manufactures of wake board towers that give you a few more choices in style than Monster.

Samson towers has a variety of styles, and New Dimension towers are OEM on a few boats and seem to have a very "factory" look to them. Google both those brands and check out what they offer.

A few days ago I ran across a writeup someone did looking for a tower for a Doo boat. It was on a joystick brand tower. I was highly impressed. I will see if I can find it.

Orange Animal gets the gold star....After rejecting my offer of $14,000 and sitting on it for a few days I sent him a final offer of $14,500 and he accepted so I hope to have my 2007 Challenger 180 in my garage in a week and a half.

On the 215hp Supercharged engine, what top speed and RPMs should I see? I'm assuming its got the ceramic washers so I'm real concerned that its still OK. This boat is under warranty till 12/2011 but I wont touch the boat if it has supercharger issues.

Craig

Congrats!!!

I want to be the first to say. Congratulations and welcome back to the Seadoo Boat Club!!:cheers::hurray::cheers::cheers:
