Examples of local restrictions I've seen in CA:
- Some reservoirs do not want powered boats on the water at all.
- Refueling in the water is not allowed (boat must be pulled out of water to refuel)
- Counterclockwise direction for all watercraft (for really crowded zones)
- Limit of boat launches for a single day (even if 1 boat comes out, 1 can't go in)
- Limit of boats allowed on the water (1 on 1 off)
