Incredible forum!

Previous owner could not obtain Seadoo oil on short notice and put in Yamalube 2-W. Believe Yamalube to be synthetic. (?). Greenish blue. He has ran ~ 1/2 gallon through with no noticable effects.

Is Yamalube ok to run as I hate the idea of trying to purge the whole system? If I drain the tank, do you think I'd be ok switching to Seadoo synthetic without purging the pump?

Maybe run a little premix to be safe?

I am not sure of the perfect fix but I have been studing engine oil for a few years now and I still have no 100 pecent answers. I see 2 of the same exact engines and one may call for synthetic but if it has a super charger on it then the factory wants to keep the clucthes in the super charger from sliping so bad that it could build up heat that instead of useing a very good synthetic they deside that the want to use a nonsynthetic oil. So lets make sure the super chargers make it thew the warenty but I would think that the rest of the engine would last longer if there was a beter type of oil but I am not sure. I allso see where the same pistons are used by 2 diferent engine manufactures with both engines turning close to the same rpms but they both require different oils. How do you think that these pistons know what engine they are in? I have never seen a engine failure because of the wrong oil but I have seen them fail because they did not have oil in them. But this dose not mean it can not hapen it only means that the few thousand engines that I have studied have not had this issue that I know of. Good luck Robin

Yup Robin, dont know either, I mixed a gal. seadoo injector oil, with gal. of kawasaki blue/green injector oil, and boat ran fine. Once I converted to premix, kept same oil in tank, and whatever I could find in any store/gas station to mix with gas, I used it......As long its injector oil, you be alright. Think its more of gimmick to buy there product...
