Recommendations......

It is what's recommended. But the choice is entirely up to you.

NOw, if your looking for an alternative, I use the Quicksilver oil. It's formulated to use in Seadoo's........it fits all their requirements. I use the "full synthetic", but if you prefer, you can try the "synthetic blend". I buy it by the gallon. Make sure you read the back of the label, they make many different types of marine oil, but only a few are usable in the Seadoo's.

The nearest Seadoo shop is over an hour away for me. I've used it now for 2 seasons and my plugs look great.........so, theres an alternative for you.

Oh, BTW, I buy it from Wallyworld......WalMart.

It's not in the boat section, it's in the back where they sell the motor oils for cars; don't know why. They only sell the TCW-3 oils in the marine section.

so I could use The XP-S Mineral insted of the Synthetic?will it hurt anything???

The Seadoo dealer says it just burns diffrent???

Mineral verses Synthetic........

Your ski is a 96 model. The first thing I need to know is, what type and how long has the present oil been in it. If the ski has been on mineral 5 years and the plugs look good, then leave it on mineral. The bearings are already worn in. The synthetic is formualted to be a better provider of dissapating heat on the bearing surface, better than any other oil.

Mineral oil is not used to it's fullest capacity. The molecules that help it stay slippery, isn't adhering to the metals 100%, so therefore, some of the friction and heat transfter that could be taking place, isn't.

With Synthetic, it's specially formulated to be more slippery and adhere to the surface better, removing more heat that the mineral.

But if this engine has been on Mineral for the last 5 years, the plugs look good, don't change anything on it..........

The old saying......you can go from mineral to synthetic, but not from synthetic to mineral.............
