Hi guys just going over the manual for my RXT X as its coming to the 10 hour mark and needs a new oil change, i am reading here that you must NEVER use synthetic oil in 215 and 255 HP engines. Only XP-S 10W 40 mineral oil (P/N 219 700 346) or a BRP approved equivalent.

But isnt XP-S 10W 40 mineral oil synthetic? in the attached picture is that the correct oil to be using in the 4 stroke supercharged engines?

Thanks for the help in advance

That is correct. It is a synthetic BLEND. They dont want you using FULL synthetic. There is a difference. The full synthetic is bad for supercharged engines. The synthetic oil is bad for the supercharger and allows the clutch to slip.

The original owners manual may state to never use any synthetic oil. That is slightly out of date. BRP changed its stance when they made the synthetic blend. The newest oil is approved for all 4 tech engines.
