xp ltd exhaust over heating

hi, just got ski back on friday , all appears to be running ok except for the latter part of the exhaust down to the rubber connection where the pipe goes out to the back seems o be getting very hot , it has melted the air intake where it came into contact with the exhaust , any ideas.

I was having that problem with my 97 xp. It got hot and melted some of the foam around the pipe and and melted the rubber connetor from the pipe to the water box. It ended up being that the spring was left out of the water control valve thats mounted to the water box. Put the spring back in and adjusted the valve. cured the heat problems.
 
hi, thanks for your replies , i found that two of the pipes one coming from the valve above the silencer and one supplying the tail tail were on the wrong way i exchanged them and everything was ok no more over heating,
