Wrong oil in premix, also assuming oil tank

Hey everyone!
New post, first time every posting and being on a forum! Lucked into a great deal on used 1994 sea doos that were rebuilt roughly only 10hrs on them with all new hoses and the works by a great shop.

So anyways, the previous owner I got it from spent good money having them rebuilt and converted to premix. He used the barely last summer and didn't even take them out this spring before I purchased them. I asked the gentleman what oil he mixed with the gas and for the life of him he could not remember at all, but believed it was marine grade Pennzoil 2 stroke. After doing extensive reading on this forum and researching possible oils I have come to the conclusion that I just don't trust the oil he has in the full gas tanks and in the oil tank...

I have completely drained and clean gas washed/rinsed the fuel tank in one so far. And I am wondering How and If I should try to flush the rest on the fuel lines from tank to carbs??
Also wondering if I should be fine leaving the oil in the oil tank which I know is needed to supply oil onto the Rotary Valve?
My thoughts and understanding is that the RV is isolated/contained from the combustion chamber and therefore will be fine with the oil currently in the tank until is Slowly runs out...
Would love some great feedback and advice, I am sooo glad I read up on this before continuing use of the skis before any damage or gelling of oil occured from different oil types. Oh and btw I have chosen to go with the Quicksilver PWC 2stroke full synthetic oil at a 40:1 ratio but waiting to know if and how I should proceed with getting it fully flushed and on the right track.
Thanks for everything... Hoping to have these for a long time and look forward to finding out more about them!
(Currently removed decals and flat blacking all hoods and plastics and going with an arctic camo vinyl them over them DIY ofcouse) :)

The oil that feeds the rotary shaft is just fine,,,as you said, there is no cumbustion...Otherwise , for many years I use synthetic 2 stroke oil.

Ok. So I was also thinking of disconnected the fuel lines from the carbs and running the starter to pump the rest of the fuel out with dry tank... I'm not sure if that's a thing that would be possible/smart to do haha. Really don't know what else I can do to get the rest of the fuel left in the lines.... Thanks

I personally would drain the rotary cavity and oil tank and replace the oil with something else. I’m a firm believer in knowing what my machines have in them. Especially considering you mentioned not trusting the oil he used in your original post.

I would also switch them back to oil injection. Premix is a waste of oil in these machines considering the oil pump system is nearly flawless.

Also I see you’re in Dallas. If you need parts, Dale’s in Sasche stocks nearly everything you could ever need for these older machines and often times he is right in line with prices online.

Yeah I'll be diving more into it today to see what all I have to work with. I am considering switching it back from premix.
How would I go about getting all the oil out of the Rotary cavity? Definitely on the same line as you, I would like to know I have good stuff in it.
Also thanks for the info on Dale's I'll look it up and see about the oil injection pump

Yup Dale’s is awesome and several times he’s steered me in the right direction just talking to him when picking up part

Switching back to injection is a pain in the azz. Then again so is pre mixing. LOL Might be better maintenance-wise not to mess with good running skis. As they say, "if it ain't broke don't fix it." 'Nuthin wrong with premix if it is already done. Good Luck 1

Yeah I chose against switching back right now, just too damn hot outside haha. Definitely agree, they fire right up and have given me 0 indications of not liking the Quicksilver PWC 2stroke oil I currently mix at 40:1

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any suggestions on what I should have to maintain come winter time? Rave valves, carbs,...
