Anyone have a write up on rebuilding the 720 top ends in the sportster 1800's? I did try search and couldn't find anything. Seems like it should be fairly easy, just want to make sure. I am not having any probs with the boat, it's just 15 years old and the top ends could prob be freshened up. The rebuild kits are not all that expensive.

Just a warning... Refreshed top end puts more stress to old downstairs. I did the same for my 717 two years back and the one of the original crankshafts bearings gave up. Otherwise the job is pretty easy bolt-on job.

There is a great write up in the service manual. But I also agree. It's never a good idea to rebuild the top-end on a 15 year old engine.
