2002 Utopia 205. Symptom: Engine does not start, no clicks, or other signs of life. Gas gauge, blower, bilge pump run OK so I have power. New battery, fully charged.

I discovered that one of the wires to the kill switch is broken. Does anyone know if that would cause this symptom?

I know one time I forgot to attach the lanyard, and although the engine would not start it did crank, So I'm thinking I should at least get cranking noises if that is all that's wrong.

I fully intend to replace the switch, so that's not an issue. Finding one might be an issue, but that's a different matter. Right now, I'm just trying to determine if I have one mechanical/electrical problem, or two unrelated problems.

It will crank with out the lanyard. SO... it sounds like you have wiring issues between the helm and the engine.
