Worn RAVE Valve - PICS

Just thought I'd post a few pics of what a badly worn RAVE Valve assembly looks like. Guess this explains why I was going through bellows & pistons. I had no idea these things wore out until I read a little deeper about troubleshooting them...

Thanks for the pics. I don't think I've seen them wear like that either. But... with the stem warn... they aren't going to seal... and yes... you will melt the bellows.

That shoulder you see at the top of the valve is the original width. The tapered portion is the wear...

Geez, any idea how many hours were on that motor? Thanks for posting.

I have no idea. The boat is a '97, and the previous owner had it for most of it's life. No tell or signs of a rebuild...
