I just wanted to share a hookup for apple iphone/itouch users for those that do not already know how to do so, this will enable your iphone/itouch to wirelessly control all itunes songs on your computer wirelessly right from your iphone/itouch to play through your home theater receiver and optional wireless outdoor speakers, you can also do this in a boat for more info on boat hookup please contact me directly. This is what was given to a resent customer of mine looking for wireless setup outdoors:
To start please go on your iphone>app store>search>type remote>hit search> top one should be apple, inc(remote) choose to install it (free app) once installed open itunes on your computer and on your iphone open "apple itunes remote app" next choose to add a library once set up you now have full access and control of your itunes library on your computer from your iphone.
This part is now complete, you have now completed wireless setup for itunes
Next you need a audio cable to connect your computer to a home theater receiver> link below:
Note: This is a top of the line audio cable much better then a cheap $5-$10 one
http://www.amazon.com/Monster-Cable-126130-iCable-iPod/dp/B000068IH5
Next once you have this cable attach the 3.5mm end to your computers headphones or speaker output and then the rca ends to your home theater receiver, you can use any open rca inputs you wish for example video 1, cd, tape etc, then change the source to the pc input source of the receiver, now go to your pc and adjust your audio settings to best suit the sound output from your home theater receiver.
Once adjustment of settings is correct you will find you now use your iphone as a wireless remote over you home wireless network and wi-fi enabling you to listen to all itunes songs on your home theater receiver.
Note you must have a home wireless network setup to take use of this remote function, this is easier then buying a wi-fi device that plugs into the bottom of the phone.
Next it is time to choose your wireless speakers, ski is the limit here as so far if all you needed to do is buy the audio cable you now are out less then $30, at a $1000 can budget you now have over $900 you can spend on a set of speakers, cheap is not good here they do not sund good and have interferrence, choose your wireless speaker setup.
Make sure you choose a good set, next after you receive them connect them to the "b" speakers of the receiver or zone 2 or zone 3 depending on your receiver, or you can purchase a receiver just for this setup and connect normally, if the above steps are performed correctly you will now have full wireless control of itunes on yur computer via your iphone which then will play over your home theater receiver and output to the wireless outdoor speakers.......
The wireless range is pretty good I have found I can be across the street and still have signal, enjoy your new setup and if you need any further assistance I will be more then glad to help you.
Thanks,
Joe
