I dunno.... I bought some RV anti-freeze and commenced to getting some of the skis a bit more ready for the one day 24 degree temps. Just a blip of winter for some. I noticed when I was putting in the anti-freeze I had a puddle at the back of the skis same color as the anti-freeze. I know a number of people around here that never winterize. I wonder how much water actually gets trapped where it can do damage to the ski. That said.... we only get a few days a year where the temp drops below freezing and it is only below freezing for a few hours at a time.

I don't get the anti-freeze idea, I mean I understand, I just don't think it's necessary, especially down South where we live. I just run them dry off the hose until no water is escaping. On the last day of the season I run them several times out on the driveway in 30 second intervals blipping the throttle, let it cool awhile, crank again, repeat, then fog it and loosely put plugs back in leaving the plug wires on the ground posts. I run marine sta-bil all the time, so no worries on the fuel.

As long as your cylinders don't have debris and the low level drains are clear there should be no reason to antifreeze them. But as they say, never say never.

I have seen a hand full of split cylinder water jackets on machines. They are not always self draining if debris has blocked the drain route.

I figured better safe that sorry. I did roll the dice in a couple of skis in the yard. I hear the temp went down to 25 which put put us below freezing for about 8 hours. Really though, the water box is a concern as you can't get all the water out of that thing. I'll be riding some of these skis in the next couple of weeks. :)

I switched to airplanes 2 weeks ago. :D :D Gave my plane Delmar a good wash job as he has been neglected this year with all the jet ski stuff going on. He has company in the hangar as well and doesn't complain. Got the leading edge of the wing polished up. Looks kewl. It's Delmar's signature look. :)
