will 13.6 v fry my MPEM? freaking out!!!

today i bought a new charger/maintainer and put it on my 12 volt marine batterie today,set it on slow charge and left it for the day. when i went back to check it, it was fully charged to 100% capacity. when charged, the charger will read the voltage and it says 13.6 volts. i read some info about mpem's being touchy. i am afraid to turn on the main switch until i know it is safe. please help!!! tim

Nope, 13.6v. is perfectly normal for a fully charged battery.

thank you, i have always had just the cheep chargers that don't tell you much at all. and i am not much for electrical work.

BUT.... do not try to start the boat with the charger hooked to it. The starter surge can give you a power spike... and that can kill the MPEM.
