Hello everyone, I am new here but not new to PWC's, I have ridden stand up's all my life and now have just bought a SeaDoo. It's a 2002 RX and overall seems to work really well, I was wondering though, what rpm's this should pull at top speed, i get approx 6800 rpm at full throttle, does anyone know if this sounds right? I do realize that the rev limiter is limited to 7250 rpm, I just thought that it might run a little closer to the limiter.
Thanks
Steve

Steve, welcome to the seadoo forum. It is possible that the seadoo isn't getting total full throttle. Check the cable adjustments to see that it is getting full wide open throttle on the throttle valve. If you adjust the cable be sure it still in sync with the oil injection pump. The marks on the pump at idle should be lined up and respond with the throttle cable.

To achieve the top speed should we reach the maximum rpm limit?
I couldn't reach the maximum speed "which i found in reviews to be around 54-55 mph) on my GTX-Di .. but i only reach 50 miles/h at 6800 rpm ..the limiter is supposed to work at 7250 -7350 on Di models.
the enging can go byond 6800 but i didn't want to push any harder ... is it safe to run the enging at the maximum limit frequently ....

The rev limiter will prevent it from over reving...even if it jumps out of the water. It shouldn't hurt anything.
