So I went to the dealer and asked for three NGK DCPR8ES spark plugs for my
'04 4 Tech Sportster. I got the number from the '04 service manual (Specifications section). The parts guy said the shop uses NGK DCPR8E (no "S" at the end). He said he never heard of the DCPR8ES. He even looked it up in his book and said it showed the number without the "S". My manual shows it with. Which one is right? And what dos the "S" stand for? Anyone??

Without the "s" is correct of all 4-tec engines. (gap .030)

If you added the "s" to the suffix... it would indicate "Standard Center Electrode." So actually, the "S" would be incorrect since you use a projected type.
