Which petrol to use in Australia?

Hi I was wondering about my use of premium petrol in my RXP 215.
Premium is 98% octane level as far as I am aware, in Australia.
We have a few choices at the pump here. 91% standard unleaded, 95%, and 98% premium unleaded. There is also others that contain ethanol. My Seadoo manual recommends 91 to 95% fuel.
Would the use of a higher octane fuel cause any problems? Do I need hotter spark plugs or a standard plugs ok?

fuel for ski

Hi Scottozy
Mate the Premium WILL NOT hurt the ski.It may even run slightly better. It will run cleaner on the inside with less carbon build-up.It's mainly a cleaner burning fuel.
It's the recommended fuel for Hsv,Evo's,Wrx Sti etc.
Hope this helps

Hi Crisso thanks for you answer. Yes that's what I thought, but needed another opinion. It does seem to run well on premium 98. Had a good run yesterday up at Bribie, although a little choppy, I got it up to 122 kilometers per hour, with just me on it. Also 111 kmh with a passanger of 105kg.

122!! Holy snappin' bumholes!
Mate thats a fraction off 76 mph.Way to go.
Bet you had your ears pinned back and your head tucked down. That is unreal. And you say you are only just getting the hang of it.Seems like you already have it.
So.Other than that, how was you day?
Is that the first time you have really wrung it's neck?
Crisso

Full speed ahead

Yes first full on blast. As soon as I found some smoother water I went for it. Sh!t, it was a surprise to see 122 on the dial. I've found with trial and error it was easier to go flat out by ride the thing like a horse jockey. Leaning foreward a bit, bum off the seat, knees bent, and staying in control never stopping watching the water ahead for those swells that can throw ya, and other users on the water.

Mate. Also watch for cruisers that have already gone past.Their wash can travel a long way.If you come up behind one that is just getting on the plane, they have a rolling backswell in the middle of their wash.If you meet one head on,go for the second piece of wash off the back of it.You have the initial first wash and then the next wave is just begind it.You only cop 1 wave, not 3.And its the best one to jump:cheers:
