This is just my personal opinion, I know exactly the kind of boat you're talking about, big block, blown chevy connected to a berkley pump, old school boat. It's like a Corvette on the water, not the most practical boat but I always wanted one. For raw power it's gonna be real tough to beat it with any SeaDoo.
I know I'm gonna get some argument and I know this is a SeaDoo forum but those old jet boats were something else, real power. Sorry if I remissness.

Exactly LouDoo!
Thats the boat Im talking about. It was somewhat comfortable too (not like a seadoo challenger or islandia comfortable, but like a 1978 Grand Marqui comfortable ahahah know what I mean?).
But in all seriousness, the boat was mostly made of wood, maybe a little fiberglass if any. The back of the boat sat very low, so when we beached it and someone came to beach their boat a small wave totally covered his engine, though he had a pretty good bilge system that sprayed the water out, pretty cool.
For Raw power I like that boat, but it sucked up gas like those old cars, extremely loud (which was cool), but really enjoying it for like 6 hours straight?
At the end of the day like I mentioned, I think with my boat we had more fun, I took my whole family out, like 10 of us, 4 adults and 6 kids, (taking turns with 3), I went the whole day on the lake the kids had a blast, and I finally did go through 3/4 of a thank in 5 hours non stop fun! This fun included doing mild 360's, jumping waves, and just having a blast.
We were having so much fun that the Coast Guard lit up their lights and stopped my boat, and the officer told me that I cant be riding my boat like it was a big jet ski (LOL)!, almost gave me a fine for "Reckless Driving", for following too close to another boat (i was riding his wave) so I apologized to him and I stopped.
It was great at the end of the day!
